Don’t Blame the G5. The Power 4 Created the Monster That Killed College Football.

On Sunday, the ESPN’s College Football Selection Show couldn’t wait thirty seconds after making their final playoff selection announcements before whining and complaining about the two Group of Five programs that somehow, against all odds, managed to squeeze into the 12-team format. “No disrespect to Tulane and James Madison” began the disrespect to Tulane and James Madison, launching a parade of bitching from supposedly serious college sports voices like Brett McMurphy, Skip Bayless and Danny Kannell who dramatically gnashed their teeth for the poor, deprived and cheated programs left out of the Playoffs.

Why a bunch of crybabies. These are the rules you made! You didn’t say a word about the format and the qualifications for the entire season. But now that your favorite name brands have been omitted from the conversation, you want make a big scene and dump your bullshit on two programs who had the gall to follow the map. Good God, Nick Saban was complaining about the format even when his three-loss Crimson Tide was inexplicably allowed in after a 21-point beatdown. Oh my God, don’t blame ESPN-owned Alabama for Notre Dame getting left out! Blame James Madison! They’re the ones you want behind bars!

Also, Notre Dame can eat a bag of door knobs. These entitled, golden-domed bozos have been prancing around college football for decades expecting to be waited on hand-and-foot while refusing to enter a conference. We’re too good for a conference we’re the Irish. What you are are spoiled brats, not good enough to be in the Playoffs but too good to treat your fans to a bowl game outside the Playoff structure. Get bent, South Bend.

You could have been gracious and polite, Power Four. You could have congratulated Tulane and James Madison for their achievements without your dumbass caveats. But no! You had to step on the Dukes and the Green Waves’ moment to show us all what boorishly important victims you are. Oh, the kids at BYU, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame worked so hard! Why is their disappointment greater than the joy of Tulane and JMU? Holy shit, the deck is shamelessly stacked just for you every season, and one time you get a taste of what it’s like to get screwed and now you want us all to feel sorry for you?

You know who’s to blame here, Power Four? You. In your quest for more power and more cash, you utterly destroyed one of your own conferences, bloated two more so that they are totally unrecognizable, and emasculated the ACC in front of a national audience. Regional rivalries no longer exist. Conference championships mean nothing. Rosters are completely different every season. Nobody wants to play in smaller bowl games. Colorado’s second-string long snapper makes more than a high school science teacher. College football absolutely sucks now, and you wonder why you’re unhappy. Just look at yourselves! You couldn’t handle one G5 team in a four-team playoff, and now you can’t stomach two G5s in a 12-team playoff. You are psychos.

My advice to all you pundits whining on social media for two days is this: eat the crap sandwich you had personally prepared and served for us. Go on, take every bite. You deserve it.
