Red Wolves Rule Sun Belt Basketball Tournament Day One

Red Wolves Women delivered the W over the ULM Warhawks in the afternoon, and the Red Wolves Men cashed in the victory over Coastal Carolina in the evening to cap a perfect day in Pasadena.

The two victories were not without a cost.

Markise Davis wasn’t about to let it his buddy’s sacrifice go…WITHOUT A BITCH’N WINDMILL DUNK.

The Red Wolves men, who would lose an 14-point early in the second half, would close out Coastal Carolina 86-69on 25 points from Super Freshman Terrence Ford Jr and 20 points from a completely insane Davis, who contributed to Arkansas State’s 3-point blitzkrieg.

Earlier in the afternoon, SBC Newcomer of the Year Izzy Higginbottom nailed the first bucket of the game and the Red Wolves never really looked back. Higginbottom led Arkansas State with 19 points and Mailyn Wilkerson chipped in 16 to route the turnover-prone Warhawks 76-65.

Since starting conference play losing 9 of 10, the red hot Red Wolves have won six of nine. The Women face Georgia Southern tomorrow and 5PM, while the Men tip off against Troy on Thursday.
